We are pleased to point out the important conference in the attached poster that Marco Bedogni, as president of the Plastics Rubber Group of Unindustria Reggio Emilia has promoted to promote correct information on the issues affecting plastics today.
While there is undoubtedly strong discussion regarding what invests single-use and packaging plastics, with all that that entails for collection and recycling issues, opportunities are multiplying regarding applications with technopolymers, ecopolymers and biopolymers.
Through technical plastics it is as known possible to make products with lower energy impact than more traditional materials, greater safety for the user and cost-effectiveness with a convenient balance for the planet in terms of LCA.
In doing so, it is also possible to use increasing shares of recycled plastics from homogeneous supply chains by having the foresight to consider in design, a share of reduced performance compared to virgin materials. This is possible, for example, with polymers such as Polyethylene, Polypropylene, Nylon, and PET where recovery supply chains have long been organized.
These possibilities are, for example, highlighted with the "plastic second life" label https://www.ippr.it/psv which is an environmental product certification system dedicated to materials and manufactured goods obtained from the valorization of plastic waste, and therefore allows companies, to qualify manufactured goods and secondary raw materials.
A third area where Bear Plast is making a special effort is in the design and manufacture of components, including technical components, through the use of biodegradable and compostable polymers.
Undoubtedly accorre to make important distinctions and be honest about what is possible and intelligent to do today outside of purely marketing approaches.
At Bear Plast, we have begun to familiarize ourselves with these new materials such as PLA and PHA so that we can learn how to design with them and process them conveniently.
